rein4ce goes 4 social media
August,
2009. rein4ce, the reinsurance and insurance public relations company, has
successfully moved into social media.
The company, which was formed in 2008, has built up presence on Twitter
and LinkedIn and in the blogosphere and has been developing the profile of “reinsurance
girl” as an industry thought leader.
The reinsurance
girl’s blog http://reinsurancegirl.blogspot.com/,
has become widely read and reinsurance girl on Twitter http://twitter.com/reinsurancegirl has
developed more than 100 industry followers in less than two months. A new rein4ce
LinkedIn group, called Les Rendez-Vous de Monte Carlo has also been a huge
success, with nearly 50 new members signing up in less than a week.
“We are delighted
by how well our social media profile has been improving,” said Mairi Mallon,
managing director of rein4ce Ltd. “While the jury is still out on whether
Twitter and the likes can be used to make real money for a company, the social
media platforms are ideal for public relations and we are now developing products
for our clients to take advantage of this increasingly popular way of
communicating.”
Why social media?
rein4ce founders Mairi Mallon and Stephen Breen are in Monte Carlo this week for one of the world’s most important reinsurance events, the Rendez-Vous de Septembre.
Most of the key decision-makers in the reinsurance industry will be there for the annual networking event, and Mairi and Stephen will be using their time in Monte Carlo to showcase rein4ce’s services.
"There is no better networking opportunity in the reinsurance calendar than Rendez-vous because everyone who is anyone in the industry is gathered in the one place in relaxed surroundings," said Mairi.
"It was always our intention to be up and running in time for Monte Carlo, and I’m delighted that we have met that target and are now open for business."
rein4ce, a new communications company providing specialist writing and public relations consultancy services to the reinsurance, insurance and risk management industries, has opened for business.
rein4ce will use specialist re-insurance writers and production journalists in the UK and Bermuda to offer a wide range of copywriting services and PR support.
The company has been founded by experienced reinsurance journalist and public relations consultant Mairi Mallon, and national newspaper journalist and PR professional Stephen Breen.
Following extensive market research, the company believes there is a strong, unmet, demand from reinsurance companies – and the businesses that service them – for professionals who can not only deliver well-written corporate literature, but who also have a strong understanding of the sector and impressive industry contacts.
"Reinsurance is a very specialised subject, and what we constantly hear from reinsurance marketing and PR departments in they have to waste a lot of time explaining the basics of what they do when they talk to copywriters and PR agencies," said rein4ce Managing Director Mallon.
"When it comes to corporate communications, we are convinced that there is a big demand for rein4ce’s unique combination of great writing, industry know-how and extensive contacts."
rein4ce is offering a range of services including copywriting, web writing, speech-writing, ghost-writing articles, generating story ideas, and public relations consultancy services. The company is also offering complete media start-up packages for new reinsurance companies that includes logo and brochure design through to web writing and an initial press release.
The services will be aimed at a wide range of professionals within the reinsurance, insurance and risk management industries and businesses that service them including PR and marketing departments, brokers, underwriters, associated professionals such as lawyers, bankers, accountants, captive managers, professional associations and overseas jurisdictions.
Mallon and Breen say they were delighted to have the business up and running in September in time for the Rendez-vous de September in Monte Carlo, and were looking forward to a busy few months following up on encouraging leads.
Breen, a former national newspaper reporter who founded his own PR and communications company Breen Media in 2005, believes the credit crunch will present business opportunities for rein4ce.
"Whenever times get tough, the first parts of a business to suffer are normally training, PR and marketing," he said.
"We know that PR and marketing departments will be coming under an awful lot of pressure to keep on producing with reduced resources, and we feel rein4ce is perfectly placed to take the strain if they need to outsource work."
rein4ce will initially use a network of freelance reinsurance writers and editors, including former Global Reinsurance and Strategic Risk editor, Helen Yates, Bermuda-based contributing editor of the Bermuda Insurance Quarterly, Chris Gibbons, and Lindsey Rogerson, the award-winning former editor of Private Banker International, who writes a monthly investment focus for Global Reinsurance.
