rein4ce managing director and founder Mairi Mallon has been writing about the re/insurance industry for nearly a decade, and has helped leading re/insurance companies and businesses that service them in London, Bermuda, the United States and Dubai with their public relations, corporate literature, web writing, social media and ghost-writing. Mairi worked for various national newspapers in Scotland before moving to Bermuda in 1999 where she worked on the business desks of The Royal Gazette and Bermuda Sun newspapers, writing extensively about the reinsurance industry. Mairi was also the Reuters business correspondent on the island. Returning to the UK in 2004, she continued to write about the market, regularly contributing to publications such as Reinsurance, Global Reinsurance, The Review, Institutional Investor, Insurance Day and Insurance Insider. She branched out into corporate writing and public relations with the formation of Breen Media in 2005 and started rein4ce in 2008. rein4ce founder and director Stephen Breen is an experienced national newspaper journalist and public relations consultant, who has helped develop PR strategies for companies servicing the reinsurance industry. Stephen worked on Bermuda’s daily newspaper, The Royal Gazette, for five years, during which time he was also the Reuters news correspondent for the island. Stephen, a former staff reporter on The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday newspapers, is an experienced freelance business journalist who has written for a wide variety of publications, including Global Reinsurance, The Review, The Sunday Times, Daily Mail, The Herald and Herald Business Magazine. In 2005, he co-founded PR and communications agency Breen Media, and is a public relations consultant to the award-winning publicity team at Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, Triple One Group and Central College in Glasgow.
Helen Yates is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable editors in the insurance and reinsurance industry. A former editor of Global Reinsurance and managing editor of Strategic Risk, Helen has the in-depth understanding of the market and management skills to edit corporate publications to the highest standards. Helen, who has also worked on other titles such as Global Securities Lending, UK Excellence, Quality World, and Business Link for London, has superb industry contacts. Helen has a BSc in Natural Sciences from Durham University, which gives her additional insight into topics such as climate change and natural catastrophes. Since becoming a freelance writer in July 2008, Helen has written for Reinsurance, Global Reinsurance and World@Risk as well as ghost-writing on behalf of corporate clients.
British-born Chris Gibbons has worked in Bermuda as a journalist and editor for more than 25 years. A former editor of The Bottom Line business magazine and founding editor of RG Magazine, a monthly news and lifestyle magazine, he is now a director of his own media consultancy, Kaleidoscope Media Ltd., which offers public relations, advertising and design services to a wide range of corporate and non-profit clients. He is Contributing Editor of Bermuda Insurance Quarterly, writes regularly on reinsurance and insurance, technology and other business issues for Bermudian Business magazine and other local publications. Private clients have included Allied World Assurance Company, XL Capital, Butterfield Bank and Global Intrinsic Value Fund Ltd.
Lindsey Rogerson is an award-winning insurance and investment journalist. For the last four years she has written a monthly investment focus for Global Reinsurance magazine examining every aspect of the reinsurance industry and how developments impact on the bottom line of the industry's players. She is also an experienced editor, having spent two years as Personal Finance editor of The Scotsman, before which she edited Private Banker International. Lindsey currently writes on insurance for the Sunday Herald and has written for The Financial Times and The Observer. She is an experienced ghost-writer and has penned numerous guides and articles for corporate clients.
Colin Cardwell has 20 years experience in newspaper, magazine and contract publishing in Hong Kong and the UK, dealing with clients who have included Standard Life, Deloitte, the US Department of Defense, the Hong Kong Government, Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Scottish Enterprise. Currently an independent publishing consultant, Colin works from design to delivery of publications for a range of corporate clients, including a series of on-line insurance white papers for international law firm Pinsent Masons. A former editor of Scottish Finance, deputy editor of Scottish Business Insider and chief sub-editor of Scotland on Sunday, Colin currently edits the Herald Business Magazine and is managing editor of Success magazine. Until 2007, he was responsible for managing all the commercial publications for The Herald, Sunday Herald and Evening Times.
Ian has been a graphic designer for over 15 years, working for a wide range of corporate and business publications in the UK and Ireland, including the Dublin Film Festival, the Irish Food Board, Standard Life, Young Enterprise Scotland, Universities Scotland, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, The Drum and Prospect magazines and international law firm Pinsent Masons. Recently he has overseen a complete rebranding of Doors Open Day, one of Glasgow's largest annual public events, and the successful redesign of inTouch, the magazine for the Customer Contact Association. Ian's expertise in creating bespoke specialist business publications has led to commissions for US-owned newspaper company Newsquest and leading European venture capital group Scottish Equity Partners. He is versatile across various suites of publishing technology.
